Our goal

Stichting Bisschop Bekkers was founded to improve the social situation of people with a mental restriction or people whose development is lagging behind. Especially in parts of the world where health care is not as well organized as in West-Europe, it is often necessary for foundations and organizations to contribute in giving these people a chance at a better life.

SBB tries to help out with a very specific approach. Because of the independancy of SBB, it is possible to concretely offer help to local projects. Most of the time these projects only need to overcome financial issues and that's where SBB can really offer a helping hand.

Requests are presented and when the executive board decides to support a project, the money is transferred as quickly as possible. In that way the projects can start almost immediately. Because most of the projects are already ready to start, progress is quickly made. This is why it is so satisfactory to contribute to these small, local projects.
